Our February 2017 client spotlight is dedicated to Valerie Murry! Valerie has used our training services to lower her body fat and learn how to create a training program centered around her goals.
Xpress Fitness: Tell us a little about who you are, what you do?
Valerie: I am a true Mississippi girl who happens to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA). I received a Bachelor's of Nursing from The University of MS Medical Center and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from UTHSC.
Xpress Fitness: What do you like to do in your free time when you are not working or working out at Xpress Fitness? Fun Fact!
Valerie: In my free time I like to read and cook. I also like shopping for workout clothes, as it is one of my inspirations to work out.
Xpress Fitness: How is training with us different than other gyms and how have we helped you?
Valerie: Training at Xpress Fitness is different because I train with a team but yet I feel like it is my personal workout. This is a quality that can never be achieved at a franchise gym with goals of monthly membership dues.
Xpress Fitness: What motivates you to work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Valerie: Initially my motivation was weight loss, but as I have progressed through my journey my goals have changed. I am now motivated by physical strength and a total well-being. Although I still like to see the scale decreasing in number, it is truly an afterthought and not a primary source of motivation.
Xpress Fitness: What is your guilty pleasure food?
Valerie: Any rich chocolate pastry
Xpress Fitness: What advice do you have for somebody looking to start training?
Valerie: If someone is looking to start training, my best advice is to just get up and start training. The only competition that needs to be defeated is within yourself.
