Our January 2017 client spotlight is dedicated to Denise Silas! Denise has used our training services to not only accomplish her fitness goals but to also accomplish some major life and business goals.
Xpress Fitness: Tell us a little about who you are, what you do, and why you train?
Denise: I received my Bachelors Business Administration in Accounting from University of Iowa & CPA. I am a self-employed Senior Sales Director.
Xpress Fitness: What do you like to do in your free time when you are not working or working out at Xpress Fitness? Fun Fact?
Denise: I love to dance & travel. I hate to cook.
Xpress Fitness: How is training with us different than other gyms and how have we helped you?
Denise: I am challenged to push myself. I love trying new workouts versus doing the same things over and over. Working out is not new for me but weekly I experience something new at Xpress Fitness. Eric is aware of each member’s goals, so that keeps you focused.
Xpress Fitness: What motivates you to work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Denise: Growing up, older people I knew were normally heavy individuals who seem to let themselves go. I was told that as you get older you just have to embrace the gut that comes with 40 and up. I refuse to accept that. I know that obesity leads to other things so I don’t want to be the out of shape, sickly 50 year old.
Xpress Fitness: What is your guilty pleasure food?
Denise: Potato chips.
Xpress Fitness: What advice do you have for somebody looking to start training?
Denise: Set 1 short term 21 day goal. Be specific, track it and build from there. Count out 21 days on the calendar so you can see the end.
