Our March client spotlight of 2019 is dedicated to Marqueshia Bradford! Marqueshia is one of our 2018 Transformation Challenge winners!
Xpress Fitness: Tell us a little about who you are, what you do? Marqueshisa: As the health advocacy representative for my organization my job is to promote health for the children and families we serve. I found that people respond better to what they see rather than what they hear. I train to let people see what I’m saying by being a living example. Xpress Fitness: What do you like to do in your free time when you are not working or working out at Xpress Fitness? Fun Fact? Marqueshia: I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends doing anything from touring museums to kickball games in the park. My hobbies include crafting, creating fruit arrangements and displays for events, playing the keyboard, traveling and reading. Xpress Fitness: How is training with us different than other gyms and how have we helped you? Marqueshia: We truly don’t just exercise, we train. Xpress Fitness teaches, coaches, guides, and prepares us to be the best version of ourselves we aim to be. Eric constantly provides nutritional information, health tips, challenges, and other tools to help you meet your goals. At Xpress Fitness it’s like being part of a family that cares. I personally enjoy the camaraderie of group fitness and the versatile innovative workouts. Since joining Xpress fitness I’ve lost an additional 15 lbs and several inches from my arms, waist, and legs. I’ve gained muscle, strength, and endurance and done things I never imagined I was capable of doing; like deadlifting 185 lbs!! Xpress Fitness: What motivates you to work out and maintain a healthy lifestyle? Marqueshia: I wanted something different for myself, my children, and my family. I’ve lost some people very dear to me due to complications from diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. My mother and father were diagnosed with diabetes. My mother was able to reverse her diagnosis with changes to her diet and lifestyle. I currently have a clean bill of health and I plan to keep it that way. I want to break the cycle for my children and my family so I’m being the change I want to see. Xpress Fitness: What is your guilty pleasure food? Marqueshia: Sweets; candy, cookies, cake and ice cream. I love all of it! Xpress Fitness: What advice do you have for somebody looking to start training? Marqueshia: I’ve been working out for several years and there are some things that different people have said to me along the way that stuck with me: one day or day one, you can’t finish what you don’t start, it’s a process, trust the process, it’s mind over matter, it’s a lifestyle, consistency is key, make a commitment, when you commit you do it when you don’t feel like it, plan the work and work your plan and you don’t have to be perfect just don’t quit. Congratulations Marqueshia! You are XPRESSFIT! This could be you! Xpress Fitness can take you to the next level and help you achieve your health and fitness goals. Great post. Articles that have meaningful and insightful comments are more enjoyable, at least to me. It’s interesting to read what other people thought and how it relates to them or their clients, as their perspective could possibly help you in the future.
